Cut to the Bone
Let's fix PIP for people with arthritis
Last year, thousands of people with arthritis came together to speak out against proposed cuts to Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
You shared your stories, wrote to politicians, signed petitions and helped shine a light on why protecting PIP matters. Together, we made sure MPs up and down the country heard from our community and put pressure on the UK Government to stop the cuts.
It worked. Our campaigning helped stop the plans moving forward. Instead, the Government committed to reforming PIP through the Timms Review.
Now we need to make sure these reforms work for our community and help fix PIP.
We've got the receipts
We know life costs more when you live with arthritis.
From higher heating bills and transport costs to mobility aids, specialist equipment and support at home. These aren't luxuries. They're essential.
PIP helps people manage these extra costs so they can stay independent, connected to work, their family and friends.

Living with arthritis, Stickler syndrome and deafblindness, Janice shares why PIP is essential for her health, independence and quality of life.
Now's the time to fix PIP
PIP isn’t perfect. Arthritis can often be invisible and unpredictable, and assessments rely on a snapshot that doesn’t capture what it’s really like living with pain, fatigue and poor mobility every day.
The Government's Timms Review is an opportunity to get PIP right. To create a fairer system for people with arthritis.
That’s why we'll keep working with politicians and our community to call for:
- A PIP system that understands how serious arthritis can be
- Assessments that reflect what it’s really like living with the condition
- PIP to remain a flexible, non-means tested cash benefit
- Reforms that improve support, not cut it
